The California Japanese Ceramic Arts Guild was formed in 1976 to bring together Southern California ceramic artists of Japanese ancestry by founding members Joanne and Yukio Onaga, after their successful exhibit during the 1975 Nisei Week Festival. The heritage of Japanese ceramics and the contemporary techniques of today allows this group to express many levels of creativity. The Guild has remained a visible and viable organization committed to share the spirit and beauty of ceramics.
